Mike Brown Carpentry, Inc came to fruition in 1993. In the wake of Florida’s Hurricane Andrew, Mike witnessed a lack of quality care and service. During the aftermath of the devastating disaster, he decided to offer people what they deserved...  the opportunity to continue their lives in the same manner before the losses were incurred.

As his expertise expanded, Mike Brown became a State Certified General Contractor (CBC1250693) in 1999 and a State Licensed Roofing Contractor (CCC1326482). In 2003, Mike Brown Carpentry, Inc was renamed to Brown Contracting Services, Inc.

 As Mother Nature would have it, the company was able to instate its standard of excellence. The 2004 hurricane season brought 15 tropical storms and 9 hurricanes, including 6 major hurricanes. The estimated cost of damage to the US from hurricanes and tropical storms was over $42 billion. Florida experienced an unprecedented hurricane season with four major storms sweeping the state.

An estimated one in five homes in Florida was damaged by hurricanes during August and September 2004. The 2005 hurricane season proved to be even more disastrous. The ramifications of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita served as a catalyst for the company’s satellite office in Purvis, Mississippi. Mike Brown was given the opportunity to not only meet, but exceed, his goal of providing superior quality in times of need as the company provided assistance to the Gulf Coast region.
